Your driver will meet you at your riad in Marrakech at at 9 AM and you will take on the High Atlas mountains to soon reach Imlil at 1800 meters high. There, you will meet your guide for the day and trek up to the local waterfalls, have lunch with a berber family and enjoy the overall mountain scenery. Descend back to the village late afternoon. Drop the luggage at the chalet to then rest or enjoy a wood- fire hammam. Dinner and accommodation at a local lodge.

Day 2: Imlil- Asni -Tinmel – Tizi N’test – Taroudant

Your designated driver will meet you at your accommodation at 9 AM to start your trekking and sahara desert tour. You will descend on Asni to then head south past the vast lake of Ouidiane and soon reach Tinmel where the remains of the 12 century mosque lie. Visit the mosque to then take on the High Atlas and cross over the Tizi n Test pass at 2100 meters high. On a clear day, you will admire the panorama of the plain ahead and even the Anti Atlas range, further behind. Reach Taroudant in the evening. Dinner and accommodation in a Riad inside the Medina .

Day 3:Taroudant – Ighrem – Tata

Leave the plain and Taroudant behind to breast the Anti Atlas mountains and reach Ighrem at 1500 meters high. Follow the windy roads among dramatic peaks and enter the stunning Tagmout valley. Stop by the river bed and decipher the Berber Alphabet signs to then go off- road and visit a 3 century old granary, where locals deposit their grains, still in use. Ultimately, reach Tata. Dinner and accommodation in an Old Kasbah

Day 4: Tata – Foum Zguid – Erg Chigaga

Today start your trekking and sahara desert tour with a guided tour of the palm grove of Tata and discover the water tower and the khettaras. Visit the local grottoes to then take the road and stop by the salty waterfalls of Tissint. Further on, reach Foum Zguid and have an early lunch to then leave the tarmac and civilization behind. For the first hour or so we will cross the hamada to then stop and pick up fossils and have tea with the nomads. We’ll then cross perfectly flat dry lake Iriki to reach the foot of the dunes. Change the 4×4 for camels and reach the camp by sunset.  Once at the desert camp you will find yourself in the middle of the desert, witnessing the wonderful sunset, admiring the multitude of stars dotting the sky at nightfall, gathering around a campfire, this is how the magic of the night will announce. Very warm atmosphere guaranteed! You will spend an unforgettable night in one of the most beautiful places in the world… the Moroccan Sahara Desert . Dinner and accommodation in luxury tents with ensuite shower and toilets .

Day 5: Erg Chigaga Sahara Desert

Today is a Relaxing day in the Sahara Desert. Camel-trek out from camp after breakfast and then walk to explore the tallest dunes, or just relax at the Sahara desert camp, all depending on what you would like todo. Lunch is included today. Maybe take a short ride out in the 4×4 before returning to camp in time for sunset. Dinner and fire-side music. Overnight at the Sahara Desert camp once more.

Day 6: Erg Chigaga -Mhamid – Tamegroute – Zagora – Ait Ben Haddou

Wake up early to catch the sunrise over the dunes. Have breakfast with a view to then cross over the hamada  and find the tarmac again at Mhamid. Visit one of the traditional ksours to then skirt along the palm grove and reach Tamegroute and its uniquely emerald- green pottery cast in the same earth ovens for centuries. Time allowing, spend some time inside the local library where century- old treaties on medicine, sciences and astronomy are on display. Reach Zagora for lunch to then drive up to the vantage point and admire the ocean of palm trees that lies beneath or visit the village of Amezrou and its Jewish heritage. Later, take the off road across the palm grove with the 4×4 and drive past the Black People village. Stop and wander around Kasbah Tamnogalt and its honey comb citadel. Pass through Agdz and cross the gorges to then arrive in Ouarzazate. Late afternoon is the right time to visit the UNESCO world site Ait Ben Haddou, the adobe honey- comb citadel, having served for background to films like Gladiator, Lawrence of Arabia and more recently, Game of Thrones. Dinner and accommodation at a kasbah facing the UNESCO site.

Day 7:  Ait Ben Haddou Kasbah – Telouete Kasbah – Tizin N’tichka – Marrakech

After breakfast, follow along the Ounila Valley and its derelict kasbahs to eventually reach Telouet and have a wander around the salt mines and the ruins of the pasha’s palace. Admire the stucco and mosaic work inside the main hall. (You can also choose to skip Telouet and head straight to Marrakech from Ait Benhaddou, if you wish to have a last stroll around the souks or simply shorten the journey). Then catch the winding route and ascend to 2200 meters high, over the pass at Tizi n Tichka to descend on Marrakech. Drop off at the airport or your hotel . End of your trekking and sahara desert tour .
