Day 1: Arrival in Casablanca

Today, you arrive in Morocco, the Kingdom of the West or “El Maghreb el Aqsa”! You will land in Casablanca, whose name will certainly remind you of the famous movie from 1942. You can relive the timeless romance by visiting the city, or you can choose to reach the End of the World at Tangier, also known as “Europe’s Getaway to Africa”.

As soon as you get off the plane, our professional driver will welcome you at the airport and drive you to your accommodation, where you can take your time relaxing after the flight.

Once you are settled in your lodging, begin with a visit to Hassan II Mosque, the largest in Morocco and the third-largest mosque in the world, which non-Muslims are allowed to enter. Able to accommodate up to 105,000 in prayer, this marvel of modern Moroccan architecture is the work of hundreds of expert craftsmen from around the country, many of them donating their work. Overnight at the Casablanca hotel.

Day 2: Casablanca – Rabat – Chefchaouen

After breakfast, your Morocco private trip continues to Rabat, where you’ll visit the Hassan Tower, which has sat unfinished since 1199. Commissioned by Abu Yusuf Yaqub al-Mansur, the tower was to be the minaret for the largest mosque in the world. Unfortunately, when the Sultan passed away in 1199, the project was abandoned, leaving some partial outer walls, 348 columns, and a minaret only standing half-finished at 140 feet rather than the intended 260 feet.

Standing opposite the Hassan Tower is the Mohammed V Mausoleum, which contains the tombs of Mohammed V, the current king’s grandfather, as well as the king’s father, Hassan II, and his uncle, Prince Abdallah. It is considered a masterpiece of Alaouite architecture with its white walls and green tiled roof.

After lunch, you will make your way to Chefchaouen. This little city is a visual delight in blue; walls, doors, windows, stairways, alleyways, and archways–everything is a combination of pastel, sky-blue, and deeper, more powerful hues. Chefchaouen is located in the heart of the Rif Mountains and is popular for travelers who want to get the feeling of old Morocco.. Overnight at a Chefchaouen accommodation.

Day 3: Tour of Chefchaouen

Today, you will delve deeper into Chefchaouen’s fascinating history with the help of our travel guide. The guided tour of the city will let you explore the medina, visit the peculiar local shops, and see some remarkable pieces of Andalusian architecture. If you can’t get enough of the city, you can also reach the beautiful park waiting for you at the end of Avenida Mohammed. A brief excursion on the Rif Mountains with our guide is also a possibility. Overnight at a Chefchaouen accommodation.

Day 4: Chefchaouen – Volubilis – Moulay Idriss – Meknes – Fez

Your fourth day will start with the unforgettable experience of the ruins of Volubilis, a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1997. This charming once-upon-a-time city lies between Meknes and Fes. During its long history, it went from being a Berber settlement of the 3rd century B.C. to an impressive Roman city around the 1st century B.C., housing more than 20,000 residents during its brightest time. Adventuring through these ruins is the same as experiencing the daily life of ancient Romans, You will visit their luxury residences with their undying mosaic tiles, their famous public baths, the Triumphal arch of Caracalla, and the outstanding Basilica of Volubilis, among other eye-catching remnants. As you bask in the grandeur of the old empire, our guide will provide the historical background of the city.

You will then leave for Fez, but not before stopping briefly at Moulay Idriss, a pilgrimage site at the feet of Mount Zerhoun. Only 2.5 miles away from Volubilis, the ruins can be seen from the top of the hills where the town was built. It takes its name from Moulay Idriss, also known as Idris I, the founder of the Idrisid dynasty, whose tomb has become a site of pilgrimage. Overnight stay in Fez.

Day 5: Fez Guided Visit

As you visit Fez today, you might forget that the city is more than 1200 years old. This UNESCO World Heritage Site is a buzzing bubble of life that will engulf you with its history and architectural magnificence. A local of the city will give you a personal tour from 9.30 am to 5.30 pm, during which you’ll get the chance to visit iconic places like the medieval gates and the Kasbahs, the narrow alleyways, and the beautifully decorated mosaic fountains. You will have your lunch break with a local family, after which you can once again immerse yourself in the beauty of Fez el Bali, with its ancient charisma and the alluring scent of the local cuisine. Our customized tour allows you to choose what you want to see, and you don’t have to visit all the places included in our travel guide. There are many other places to visit in Fez and around the city, if you so choose. The royal palace of Qasr al-Batha, the Jewish Quarter, and the luscious gardens of Jardin Jnan Sbil are just a few of the many incredible corners of this thousand-year-old city. Of course, there will be time for souvenir shopping at the many local shops, where you will also find the famous Moroccan carpets. Overnight stay in Fez.

Day 6: Fez – Ifrane – Cedar Forest – Ziz Valley – Erfoud

Nothing compares to the view of the Middle Atlas Mountains in the early morning light. Your first stop today will be Ifrane, a resort town that will take you out of Morocco for a moment as you recognize the French-style buildings and pointy roofs. Soon after, you’ll be immersed in the overwhelming natural landscape of the Ziz Valley, with its rich palm forests crossed by countless streams. In the valley, you will have a lunch break with Mohamed, our local host, who will open his classic Moroccan home to you. You will get the chance to experience first-hand the daily life and the traditional cuisine of a Moroccan family. This is also a playtime opportunity for all the children in your group as they spend some fun time with the children of the household and get to see and maybe even feed the family animals, including donkeys, goats, and chickens. If you wish to stretch a little after lunch, take this opportunity to walk through the small forest of date palms and bring back some beautiful pictures of the natural environment. The Ziz Valley is famous for its date abundance; in fact, it’s the first region in Morocco for date production with its 283 varieties of dates. Mejhoul, the most expensive one, is also the most exquisite.

Driving along the Ziz River, we reach another town built new by the French, the oasis town of Erfoud. Hugged by the broad palm forests and overlooking the desert, Erfoud is one of the best places to experience the charm of this region. The red sand buildings will contribute to a stunning panorama as you watch the sunset over the land. Overnight at Erfoud.

Day 7: Sahara Desert Tour

Today, the Sahara Desert is ready to welcome you with its endless stretch of dunes. During your Morocco Tour, you’ll see many places that will take your breath away, but nothing quite like the experience you’re about to have. The morning starts with a stroll through the lovely towns of Erfoud and Rissani, a time to relax and take in the gorgeous landscapes around the area. A Bedouin-style camp is waiting for you just a 1-hour camel ride away from there, hidden among the golden sea of Erg Chebbi. Dinner will be served in front of the campfire, as you rest comfortably on the soft luxury of thick Moroccan carpets while you taste a delicious slow-cooked stew (tajine) under the night sky. Before going to sleep, you might want to lie a little longer under the blanket of stars and let your eyes take in the beauty of the night in the Sahara desert, a memory you will carry with you for the rest of your life. Overnight at a Desert luxury camp.

Day 8: Sahara Desert – Tinjedad – Skoura (Valley of Kasbahs)

Greet the morning sun and enjoy one last view over the Sahara at dawn, when the thin morning mist adds a magical feeling to the landscape. You will cross the sea of dunes on your way back, before resting at a local hotel after having a rich breakfast and a restorative shower. When you’re ready, you will leave for the Skoura Valley, but before you reach your destination, you will make a brief visit to Tinejdad, whose underground hides a fascinating irrigation system from ancient times. Here, you will have a lunch break. Time permitting, the timeless town of Ksar El Khorbat awaits your visit, with its red walls and straight alleys. Many houses were built over the alleys, blocking the sun and keeping them cool, also giving a mysterious feeling to them. Next, you will reach the Valley of Kasbahs, surrounded by luscious palm trees. Here you will find your accommodation.

Day 9:  Skoura (Valley of Kasbahs)

Your second day in Skoura will be dedicated to basking in the beauty of the oasis, also known as “the Oasis of 1000 Palms”. Surrounded by nothing but green, this town offers the ideal place to relax as your eyes wander over the ancient castles and Kasbahs in the middle of the astounding natural landscape that offers multiple photo opportunities you can’t miss. Overnight at Skoura for two nights.

Day 10: Skoura – Ouarzazate – Ait Ben Haddou Kasbah – Telouet Kasbah – Marrakech

You might find a familiar place in Ouarzazate, the next stop on our tour. If you’re a cinephile, you will enjoy visiting this small town famous for appearing in many famous Hollywood movies. You can expand your film knowledge by visiting the legendary Atlas Studios, the biggest movie studio in Africa and one of the most important in the world. After coming down from this Hollywood high, you will visit the impressive Kasbah de Taourirt, shielded by the Atlas Mountains at its back. This spot is of great historical importance because these roads have witnessed thousands of merchants directed to the most important markets of the region, including Marrakech, with their loads of gold, spices and slaves.

Another jewel in the crown of Morocco is Ait Ben Haddou, a UNESCO World Heritage Site that gives us a glimpse of ancient times with its traditional fortification and the buildings made of earthen clay. The sight of this ksar might not be new to many tourists: Ait Ben Haddou was indeed featured in several worldwide known movies like Gladiator and Lawrence of Arabia. More recently, it can be seen in season three of The Game of Thrones series. You can choose to continue your visit to Telouet, a small but delightful village near the High Atlas. You can spend your lunch break with a famous local Berber singer and visit the old residence of the El Glaoui family. Passing through the Tiz and Tichka Pass, you will reach Marrakech. In the afternoon, the main square of Jemaa el-Fnaa is full of life, and you can choose to lose yourself in the lively atmosphere of the market before having dinner. Jemaa el-Fnaa is no ordinary square; in fact, it’s officially considered by UNESCO as the “Masterpiece of the Oral and Intangible Heritage of Humanity”. Overnight in Marrakesh.

Day 11: Marrakesh Guided Visit

You might want to be prepared before meeting your private guide to the Red City of Marrakech. We recommend reading our guide on the city so you can discuss with your guide which places you’d like to visit beforehand. It’s impossible to simply visit Marrakech, because the city will swallow you with its colors, scents, and sounds and will make you feel like part of it rather than a mere visitor. Here, the real soul of Marrakech can only be experienced by wandering through the countless souks (markets). You will have a wide choice of places to see, including the Museum of Photography, the Lazama Synagogue, the Bahia Palace and the Dar Si Said, and the Majorelle Gardens.

Our tour lasts from 9.30 am to 5.30 pm and you can have a lunch break in the city, where you can’t miss a taste of the traditional Moroccan cuisine, with its Arabic and French influences. If you’re looking for souvenirs, Marrakech is the place to be. The most sought-after items include leather goods, cosmetics, traditional Moroccan artifacts, but also delicious foods like dates and olives. You can count on our guide’s help for every step of your shopping frenzy. Overnight in Marrakesh.

Day 12: From Marrakesh to Essaouira

Once you have visited Essaouira, you will be able to tell that you have visited Morocco from the mountains to the sea. The coastal town of Essaouira is a recent addition to the list of tourists’ favorite places in the country and a famous surf spot. Here, you can enjoy a stroll on the beach by the ocean while recharging yourself under the bright sun. The sight of the sunset over the Atlantic Ocean is a once-in-a-lifetime experience that you can’t miss while visiting this city. Not surprisingly, this is the very reason Morocco is also known by the Arabic name “El Maghreb el Aqsa,” which means The Land of the Setting Sun. Overnight at Essaouira.

Day 13: Essaouira Tour

The name Essaouira (“little picture”) couldn’t be more fitting for a town that looks exactly like one of those lovely places you see in postcards. The entire day is dedicated to exploring Essaouira at your own pace. You will immediately feel the difference from the bustling city life of Marrakech. Take your time unwinding and breathing in the clean ocean air as you leave a trail of footprints on the beach while you observe the adventurers who try their luck with wind and kitesurfing. Have a closer look at the city through one of the horse-drawn carriage tours, and if you feel up for some cultural moments, the medina offers a variety of art galleries and boutiques. A few restaurants along the coast will welcome you for lunch with their stunning views over the ocean. Overnight at Essaouira.

Day 14: From Essaouira to El Jadida

You can’t get enough of beautiful Morocco? No problem! Even if our tour is approaching its end, there’s still time to visit the Portuguese city of Mazagan or El Jadida, if you so desire. You will leave after breakfast for the mythical Fortress of Mazagan, which was listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site because of the “outstanding example of the interchange of influences between European and Moroccan cultures”. The city is also not far from the airport of Casablanca, so you will spend your last night in El Jadida.

Day 15: Depart from Casablanca

Every end is a new beginning, and we hope to see you again on our Morocco tours very soon! Please note that customs procedures at the airport may take up to three full hours.

We hope you enjoyed this journey through the heart of Morocco, and we will always be here to welcome you back with open arms!
