In the enchanting city of Chefchaouen, you’ll experience the charming and authentic Moroccan lifestyle. Despite being primarily a residential area, the Blue Pearl is home to numerous shops that cater to the daily needs of its inhabitants, such as grocery stores, repair shops, butcheries, and bakeries. While here, be sure to admire the Andalusian influence on the architecture of the newer part of the city, particularly the stunning park located at the end of Avenida Mohammed V. Once you’ve been captivated by this blue gem nestled in the mountains, you may wish to continue your Morocco Guided Tour by exploring the natural beauty surrounding Chefchaouen. If so, your driver will be happy to take you on a scenic tour through the Rif Mountains.
Day 4: Chefchaouen – Volubilis – Moulay Idriss – Meknes – Fez

Depart from Chefchaouen to Fez. Make your stop to discover the ruins of Volubilis. Once a provincial Roman capital, a distant outpost of the empire, the remains make an undeniably impressive sight. Here, a local guide will show you around, provide expert knowledge, and help you imagine the bustling city that once was. Enjoy a picnic lunch of fresh bread, cheese and seasonal fruits, and olives from the market. Drive on to explore the charming streets of Meknes’s medina – the old walled section of the city. There’s something particularly special about exploring this lesser-known medina as the locals go about their daily lives. Walk to the shrine of Moulay Ismail, visit the granaries, and stop by a local market selling vegetables, olives, and sweets. Continue to Fez, the spiritual and cultural heart of Morocco; a vibrant, noisy, and fascinating feast for the senses
Day 5: Fez Guided Visit

This day will be completely dedicated to the exploration of Fes, one of the four imperial cities of Morocco. The city, with its over nine thousand streets and alleys, is definitely too big and overwhelming to visit in a day, but thanks to our Morocco Tour guide, who knows all the secrets and places around Fes, you will visit the most important attractions, from the tanneries and the artistic and colorful souks (Fondouk Nejjarine) to the Jewish Quarter, and of course the King’s Palace. Other attractions that will take your breath away include the Pottery Complex and the Batha Museum, on top of all the hidden charms that only your experienced local guide knows and will share with you as they recall tales of the ancient city. Our Morocco Fes Tour usually ends at 5:30 pm, which leaves you time to unwind and rest in preparation for your next day, as you will have a long drive ahead.
Day 6: Fez -Ifrane – Cedar Forest -Ziz Valley – Erfoud

Today, you will also get the chance to visit a local home and experience the authentic Moroccan lifestyle thanks to our Morocco Cultural Travel coordinator, Ali, who will open the doors of his family home to you. Ali resides in a traditional Kasbah with a big garden, where the family cultivates all the necessary ingredients for their cuisine. Children in your group will probably be delighted to see the family’s many animals, including chickens, some goats, and even a pet donkey. Take your time for a leisure stroll through the palm forest and the small farms surrounding the village. This eventful journey ends in Erfoud, the perfect place to rest for the night after such a memorable day.
Day 7: Sahara Desert Tour

After breakfast, you will have some free time to relax before departing from Erfoud to reach Merzouga, your last stop before the Sahara Desert. Here, you will exchange your ride for a friendly camel that will accompany you through a breathtaking tour of the sandy dunes, the perfect opportunity to take some pictures of the colorful sunset over the desert. To completely delve into this Sahara Desert Trip, your accommodation for the night will be a Bedouin-style tent equipped with all basic necessities and set up in a private area. You also have the upgrade option to a luxury tent for a more exclusive experience. No matter which tent you choose, resting under the starry sky of the Sahara is a unique experience you won’t forget for the rest of your life!
Day 8: Merzouga -Tinrhir -Todra Gorges – Dades Valley -Skoura (Valley of Kasbahs)

It’s a sight worth more than a few pictures, so make sure to capture this moment before ending your Morocco Desert Tour by heading back to Erfoud, a town famous for its delicious dates and the peculiar fossils found in the area. Driving from Erfoud to Tinghir, you will encounter many small villages and you will stop for lunch on the incredible cliffs of the Todra Gorge. The Dades valley awaits ahead, with its mind-blowing panoramas and its famous “Monkey Fingers” rocks. By the end of the day, you will reach the Valley of Kasbahs, where you will stop to spend the night at your accommodation in the Skoura Oasis.
Day 9: Skoura – Ouarzazate -Ait Ben Haddou – Telouet – Marrakech

After a delightful breakfast, you will leave Skoura for the “Hollywood of Africa”, Ouarzazate, where you will see the Taourirt Kasbah of the Glaoui family. In this area, you will find the famous Ait Ben Haddou Kasbah, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and a well-loved filming location that appeared as the background of famous movies such as The Last Temptation of Christ, Gladiator, and Lawrence of Arabia. Next on your Morocco Tour, you’ll also visit Telouet, a less famous but no less fascinating kasbah. A special lunch awaits you today, because you’ll be delighted by the performance of a well-known local artist. Finally, you will start your journey to Marrakech, but not before driving through the Tizi n’Tichka Pass and its 340 bends in the High Atlas Mountains. Want to know a secret? There’s only 2 bends (left and right) that are repeated several times! Once in Marrakech, you will check in at your accommodation to rest and unwind in preparation for your Marrakech Guided Tour.
Day 10: Marrakech Guided Visit

Discover the many faces of the legendary city of Marrakech, which lies at the foot of the Atlas Mountains. Marrakech is a heady mix of Arabic, Spanish, and European influences. Its souks in the Medina are among the most famous in Morocco. Walk around the world-famous Djemaa el-Fna, overflowing with food stalls and entertainers, and savor the typical Moroccan atmosphere. Towering at 70 meters high, the Koutoubia Minaret fuses classic Moroccan and Andalusian architectural styles. Explore the beautiful gardens, the mosque, tiled courts, and reception halls of the Bahia Palace. See where Moroccan royalty was laid to rest in the 16th-century Saadian Tombs, built in the Hispano-Moorish style by Saadian ruler, Ahmed the Golden. Round off this memorable tour with an authentic Moroccan lunch in the heart of the bustling Medina and a relaxed visit to the wonderful, peaceful Marjorelle Gardens on the edge of the city.
Day 11: Marrakech to Essaouira (Goats Climbing Trees)

Today, you will leave Marrakech behind for the coastal city of Essaouira. A little-known but very interesting fact about this city is that it was featured as one of the 3 “Slaver’s Bay” cities on the Game of Thrones TV series. On top of that, the old Mogador port, one of the oldest in Morocco, was also featured in many scenes of the movie adaptation of William Shakespeare’s “Othello”. Essaouira has become a sought-after location by tourists on Morocco Tours only in recent years; therefore, to explore the city, it’s better to let yourself be led by your local guide. Apart from the harbor, other places of interest include the ramparts, the ancient Spanish cannon from the 17th century, the medina, and the lively artists’ quarter.
Day 12: Essaouira Tour

This whole day is dedicated to Essaouira. If you wish to have a relaxing time, don’t forget to drop by the beach for a leisure stroll or a horseback/camel ride on the shore, an unforgettable experience, especially if done at sunset. For those who wish to explore the city, there is much to see: hidden landscapes, craft shops, and other delightful places await you behind every corner. If you’re into sports activities, you’ll be glad to know that Essaouira is well known as a kite and windsurfing destination. At the end of the day, seafood enthusiasts can’t miss the chance to taste some local dinner at the fish market.

The Portuguese built the Mazagan port here to shield their ships. The citadel is worth a visit, and we also recommend you see the underground cistern before heading to Casablanca for the last day of your Morocco Cultural Tour.
