Day 1: Airport – Casablanca

On the first day of the tour, our professional and experienced English-speaking driver will pick you up from the airport in Casablanca and take you to your hotel in
Casablanca to rest after your flight. If the flight arrives earlier in the day, our driver can take you on an evening tour of the coastal corniche. Overnight at your hotel in Casablanca.

Day 2: Casablanca – Rabat

On the second day of your tour in Morocco, after enjoying your breakfast at the hotel in Casablanca, you will go on a tour with our driver and a local guide to visit the Hassan II Mosque, one of the most important and beautiful mosques of the Islamic world, with its beautiful Arabic-Andalusian architecture, delicate carvings, and gorgeous mosaic, to which the construction of the Jewish community in Morocco contributed considerably. You will also visit the Mellah, where more than 2000 Moroccan Jews still live in Casablanca and where most of the 30+ synagogues in Casablanca are located, especially the biggest synagogue, which is the Beth El Synagogue. You can enjoy your lunch in one of the kosher restaurants in Casablanca before taking the road to Rabat. Upon your arrival in Rabat, you will visit the lively old Medina and make your way towards the Mellah of Rabat, which is located by the Medina and overlooking the Bou-Regreg River, which separates Rabat from Sale. You will also visit the Kasbah Udayas, which is a Kasbah (citadel-like city) surrounded by a huge wall for

Day 3: Rabat – Ouazzane – Chefchaouen

On the third day of the tour, after savoring your breakfast in Rabat, you take the road towards Ouazzane, which many Moroccan Jews consider to be a holy city, and make pilgrimages to venerate the tombs of several marabouts (Moroccan saints) there, in particular Moul Anrhaz, the local name of Rabbi Amram Ben Diwan, an 18th-century rabbi who lived in the city and whose burial place is associated with several miracles. After the visit to Ouazzane, you will continue to Chefchaouen, the blue town of Morocco, which is located at an altitude of 564 m and surrounded by the beautiful Rif Mountains. Chefchaouen was founded in the 15th century by the Sephardic Jewish community that escaped the Spanish Inquisition, alongside the Moorish community. The town’s famous blue-washed walls and alleys are owed to the Jewish community of the town, to whom the sky-blue color represents closeness to God and hope. In Chefchaouen, you will visit the calm and picturesque Medina with a local guide after lunch, making your way through the Uta El Hammam Square and the Mellah, towards the waterfall at the top of the Medina.

Day 4: Chefchaouen – Volubilis – Meknes – Fez

On the fourth day of the tour, after breakfast at the hotel, you will take the road from Chefchaouen to Fez, passing through Volubilis and Meknes. Volubilis is a well-preserved Roman city, where archaeologists found the first traces of Jewish settlement in Morocco. You will visit Volubilis and learn about its history with a local guide before going to Meknes, where you will visit the Mausoleum of Moulay Ismail, who is one of Morocco’s longest reigning rulers, as his rule lasted 55 years, during which he built the city of Meknes and made it his capital. You will also visit the atmospheric Lhdim Square, where folkloric shows, snake charmers, and local markets are typical of Moroccan culture, which is located by the biggest gate in Morocco, Bab Mansour. After your visit to Meknes, you will continue to Fez, where you will spend the fourth night of your tour.

Day 5: Full-Day Tour in Fez

On the fifth day of your tour in Morocco, after savoring your delicious breakfast, you will meet our experienced and multilingual local guide, who will show you around the Medina to visit the surrounding historical monuments in a Ramparts tour by car.
The tour includes visiting the king’s Palace doors and square, the northern tower, the Jewish neighborhood (Mellah), which was home to an important population of Jews at
a point in time, located by the king’s palace, and still preserved in its original architecture and design. You will also make your way through the maze of the Medina with its countless and never-ending narrow alleys, with our guide who will explain to you the history of the city and its huge importance for the Muslim world, as you will visit the first university in the world, the Qarawiyyin University, the Attarin Medersa and Souk, the Nejjarine Fondouq, the Bou-Inania Quranic School, and the Chouara tannery. After finishing your tour in Fez, you will spend the fifth night of your tour at your hotel in Fez.

Day 6: Fez – Ifrane – Medilt – Ziz Valley – Errachidia – Merzouga

On the sixth day of the tour, you will set off from Fes heading to the beautiful city of Errachidia, passing through Ifrane, enjoying its cool weather and its beautiful European-style buildings. From there, our Fes to Marrakech desert tour will continue to Merzouga, passing by some Fascinating cities like Medilt, Ziz Valley, and Ziz Gorges. We
will stop at the famous and biggest Cedar Forest in Morocco to enjoy its natural charm and its playful Barbary Macaque monkeys. Your tour carries on to the magnificent town
of Ziz Oasis, stopping to rejoice in the charming sights. Our journey continues, passing by Erfoud, Rissani, and some Berber Villages along the way. After arriving in Merzouga, you will get to experience Camel Trekking, riding through the mesmerizing golden dunes of the Sahara Desert, and enjoying the view of sunset. You will have dinner and spend the night under the inspiring moonlight while listening to Moroccan drum music in a luxury desert camp in the heart of the Sahara.

Day 7: Erg Chebbi – Merzouga

On the seventh day of your tour, after savoring a delicious breakfast and enjoying the view of the spectacular sunrise in the middle of the golden dunes, you will go on a tour around the city of Merzouga. You will visit the following sites: the qanat, a farm in an oasis, Lac Dayet Srij, Khamlia village, Mfiss, Merdabi Hassi Labiad, Lake Yasmina, and an abandoned village at old mines, and the black desert, which will provide you with an insight into the daily life of the Berber people and the preserved history of that region. After having enjoyed your day discovering the desert, our driver will take you to your hotel in the afternoon, where you will have dinner and spend the seventh night of your tour.

Day 8 : Merzouga – Tinghir – Toudgha Gorge – Dades Valley

On the eighth day of your 10-day tour, after enjoying your breakfast at the hotel while perusing the gorgeous view of the dunes of the Sahara, you will take the road from Merzouga to Tinghir and Toudgha Gorge for lunch. After lunch, we will continue
to Toudgha Valley, which is a wonderful area for a walk. You can wander along the river and have some free time to enjoy the beauty of the valley. From Toudgha, you will continue to Dades Valley, where you will spend the late afternoon and evening of your day, enjoying the beauty of the valley and the local Berber Villages. Dinner and overnight at the hotel in Dades.

Day 9: Dades Valley – Ouarzazate – Kasbah Ait BenHaddou – Marrakech

After breakfast, your 10-day tour continues by driving from the gorgeous Dades Valley and through the charming villages of the region, passing by fields cultivated by the Berber women, with the summits of the High Atlas Mountains as a suitable backdrop.
Your tour will carry on along the Valley of Roses, and the Kasbahs of Skoura oasis towards Ouarzazate, known as the Hollywood of Morocco, where the filming of many famous movies took place, like Gladiator and Jewel of the Nile. From Ouarzazate, you will continue to visit the Kasbah Ait Ben Haddou, a UNESCO World Heritage site and the most famous Kasbah in Morocco. Afterward, you will take the road to Marrakech, driving through the road of the thousand Kasbahs and the famous Tizi’N’Tichka mountain pass.

Day 10: Full-Day Tour in Marrakech with Local Guide

On the tenth day of your tour, you will be joined by our local guide after breakfast, who will show you around the beautiful red city. You will be exploring the Red City of Marrakech. During the tour, you will visit the Negidim synagogue, which was built at the end of the 19th century, and another synagogue in Mella, which is the Salat el Alzama, built at the turn of the century. Then, you will also visit the cemetery where Rabbi Hanania Ha-Cohen, the Lion of Marrakesh, and Rabbi Pinhas Cohen are buried. After exploring the old Jewish quarter, you will proceed to the Palais el Bahia, where our guided tour takes us to several grand halls, gardens, and the harem quarter. You will continue the tour by visiting the Koutoubia Mosque, the Saadian tombs, the garden of the Menara, and El Glaoui Palace. After lunch, you will enjoy a walking tour in the Medina of Marrakech, which is lined with souks of traditional handicrafts and art galleries as well. In the evening, you can enjoy a cup of tea or dinner at the Jamaa El Fna Square before returning to the hotel.

Day 11: Day Trip from Marrakech to Essaouira

On the eleventh day of your tour, you will go on a day trip from Marrakech to Essaouira. The day trip will take you across the Haouz plains to Chichaoua village, where you will stop for a cup of coffee. On your way, you will cross the Argan tree forest, where you might spot some goats climbing the trees. Stop and take some photos before we carry on to Essaouira. The first thing we do when we reach Essaouira is meet the local guide and visit the harbor with its fishing port and old Portuguese fortifications. There, you can still see medieval war cannons aligned in order, overlooking the Atlantic Ocean. Then continue to the Medina (old city) with its well-preserved fortification dating to the 18th century. The major landmark of the Medina is La Scala, which was built against foreign attacks from the sea. Next, we continue to Bab Laalouj (One of the main gates of Essaouira), then to the Mellah, the old Jewish quarter. Along the way, various art shops, galleries, souvenir shops, and woodcraft shops are aligned in order. Choose one of the local cafes for a delicious seafood lunch. After that, we head to a Kasbah that is famous for having served as a military bastion. If you are a beach lover, enjoy a walk along the sandy beach of Mogador. You can sunbathe while watching waterspouts, amateurs’ kitesurfing, or windsurfing. Finally, in the late afternoon/evening, you will return to your hotel in Marrakech.

Day 12: Marrakech – Casablanca Airport.

On the last day of your tour, you will take a road to Casablanca Airport (Mohammed V Airport) where our driver will drop you off, marking the end of your 12-day Jewish Heritage Tour in Morocco.
